'When i do toString('ASCII') the values are not as expected in NODEJS

When i do toString('ASCII') the values are not as expected in NODEJS when I do the same to JAVA it works perfectly ; expected result. = @3£pkxø.ãp##p½ð±û+x"@3£pkx`qãp what I get when I do toString('ASCII') = @3pkx.p##p+x"@3pkxôqp code used in NODEJS -

console.log(data.toString('ASCII').slice(1024,2048));
//console.log(data.toString('ascii').slice(1024,2048))```
