cordova docs show different Android spashscreen specs - which ones are correct?

I set up Android splashscreen png sizes according to earlier Cordova docs years ago, but the current docs show different sizes. I found some documentation that seems to indicate that the sizes now shown are for tablets, whereas the earlier ones are for phones. But nothing to indicate how to distinguish them in the config.xml file.

For example, the current Cordova docs show: size portrait landscape ldpi 200x320 320x200

whereas the older documentation says: small (ldpi): at least 426 × 320

Does anyone know the correct answer, and if they are both correct, depending on whether it is being viewed on a tablet or a phone, how are they properly referenced in the config.xml?
