Adding bathometry data (.tiff) to leaflet map in rshiny as a layer

Question

I am trying to add depth data as a contour map to a leaflet map in R-shiny. I tried to read about how to add layers but bathometry was not on the list of layers. Any idea if this is possible? Or if I need to convert the .tiff file to another format to be able to add it?
