Xero for Woocommerce Extension cURL error 28 and problem connecting to the API

Question

I having the following issue with an extension that I have by and for Woocommerce called Xero for Woocommerce on Wordpress. As follows:

cURL error 28: Failed to connect to identity.xero.com port 443: Connection timed out (see https://curl.haxx.se/libcurl/c/libcurl-errors.html)

And:

There was a problem connecting to the API.

Woocommerce Support advice: It's possible that host has some config that blocks (either ports/iP address) connecting to servers like Xero. They may be blocking it for security reasons such as hacking, malware etc. So if you get in touch they may be able to help remove that block these connections.

Hostinger WebHost Support advice: I have tried checking the IP to which Xero is trying to connect, however, I haven't found any blocks for the specified IP. Furthermore, we do not block the 443 port.

Extension will operate correctly for a few actions then the errors above will be displayed. Problem still exists with no other plugins or extensions running but Woocommerce and Xero extension.

I would like to find a fix for this problem so that the extension run correctly all the time.
