'WooCommerce Mini Cart How to Add Class in PHP echo printf

I've found this code to create a custom WooCommerce Mini Cart with AJAX update, but Idk anything about PHP, JS or jquery. It works. But I need to add a class to the item count output so I can style it and I have no clue. Anybody can help?

function jma_woo_minicart($atts){
    ob_start();
    global $woocommerce;
    echo '<a class="cart-contents" href="' . ' $woocommerce->cart->get_cart_url()' . '" title="View your shopping cart">';
    echo sprintf(_n('%d item', '%d items', $woocommerce->cart->cart_contents_count, 'woothemes'), $woocommerce->cart->cart_contents_count) . ' - ' . $woocommerce->cart->get_cart_total() . '</a>';
    $x = ob_get_contents();
    ob_end_clean();
    return $x;
}
add_shortcode('jma_woo_minicart','jma_woo_minicart');
// Ensure cart contents update when products are added to the cart via AJAX (place the following in functions.php)
function woocommerce_header_add_to_cart_fragment( $fragments ) {
    global $woocommerce;

    ob_start();

    ?>
    <a class="cart-contents" href="<?php echo $woocommerce->cart->get_cart_url(); ?>" title="<?php _e('View your shopping cart', 'woothemes'); ?>"><?php echo sprintf(_n('%d item', '%d items', $woocommerce->cart->cart_contents_count, 'woothemes'), $woocommerce->cart->cart_contents_count);?> - <?php echo $woocommerce->cart->get_cart_total(); ?></a>
    <?php

    $fragments['a.cart-contents'] = ob_get_clean();

    return $fragments;

}
add_filter('add_to_cart_fragments', 'woocommerce_header_add_to_cart_fragment');
