What is the meaning of async resolve parameter in promises?

I have the following javascript code which will record voice for 3 seconds and then play it back:

How does resolve work in this code?

when calling for example recorder.start(). Will it just trigger the piece of code

const start = () => mediaRecorder.start();

In recordAudio?
