'Use Goals in Matomo Tag Manager as Trigger
It may be a stupid question, but ... My goal is to use goals (i.e. conversion) tracked by Matomo On Prem to trigger events in Matomo Tag Manager. When I create a trigger in Matomo Tag Manager i see the following list of possible triggers: DOM Ready, Pageview, Window loaded, etc. But there is no goal from matomo to select from.
So I assume I think about it the wrong way. What I already found is that a trigger my issue a goal but no the other way round. I think the reason for this is that triggers are much more "basic" in means of technology. Goals in Matomo are triggers by higher level events (more limited in technical means) such as URLs viewed.
Thus I assume that when using Matomo Tag Manager one should use triggers in Tag Manager to issue goals?
Is that correct?
Although the recommended approach is to use goal tracking in Matomo not the tag manager (see: https://matomo.org/faq/tag-manager/how-do-i-trigger-a-goal-conversion-when-a-user-clicks-a-link-using-matomo-tag-manager/)
