'terminationgraceperiodseconds doesn't work with horizontal pod autoscaler (hpa)

I have horizontal pod autoscaler configured. Along with it we want to introduce terminationgraceperiodseconds. If HPA is enabled terminationgraceperiodseconds doesn't work. When there is new deployment pod gets deleted as soon new pod comes up. If HPA is disabled terminationgraceperiodseconds works as expected !!
