'"./gactions init" erroring out with "bsdthread_register error"

I'm trying to install Google Actions CLI on my MacBook.

I followed the commands here but when I run "./gactions init" it throws the following error:

The error is really cryptic and Google was of no help so I'm really not sure what I can do.
