'QubesOs - install to external SSD disk

Does anyone have experience with installing the QubesOS on external SSD disc? I've tried just about everything to make it bootable, but no success. It just do not boot from SSD, and after QubesOS installation to SSD the computer system I installed on is no more working. My install procedure:

  • burn QubesOS ISO to SSD/USB(using dd) and boot from it
  • plug another external SSD and install the system to it

Basically, I don't even understand why the computer's operating system(Manjaro) is broken after installation of QubesOS to SSD. Does QubesOS changing BIOS settings(boot options?) even installing to SSD ?

What I need to achieve is to have a standalone QubesOS installation on SSD so that I can boot on various computers.
