Was there a change that broke this? I have @EnableWebSecurity, and some @RestControllers, but not sure what could be causing it.

I've resolved this by removing all possible code that would create a minimum viable code example. In my case I was injecting a RestTemplate and the loader was getting confused. I moved it out into it's own class so it would avoid some circular dependencies. The newer spring version seems to be stricter and detect cycles.

Well, we had the same behavior on our side when upgrading to 2.6.1. It appears that we used a ConversionService through constructor injection (for a MongoDB cache usage).

We have changed the definition to a new instance of DefaultConversionService.

Same for us upgrading from 2.4.7 to 2.6.2. We also tried 2.5.8 but same result. This has no effect on runtime but the problems appears for our batch integration tests.

I'm getting the same error when trying to upgrade my spring-boot-app from 2.5.9 to 2.6.3

It does start when i exclude my SecurityConfigurer.

Any advice would be welcome.
