'Laravel filesystem with Digital Ocean spaces from Localhost

I am currently working on image uploads for my Laravel project.

I am using Digital Ocean spaces. It is working when running on the production server so I can confirm all configuration is set up correctly.

Is there a way to use this service in my local dev environment? It currently runs through will no errors but also no upload. I'm assuming it's something to do with permissions?

Any help (or guidance towards what I should be researching) Much appreciated.
