'Is network bandwidth inclusive of EBS bandwidth in AWS
I am looking at the a1 instances in AWS at: https://aws.amazon.com/ec2/instance-types/a1/. Under the product details section, it is mentioned that for an a1.4xlarge machine has "Upto 10Gbps" network bandwidth and "3500Mbps" EBS bandwidth. The a1.4xlarge is an EBS optimised machine - That means the EBS is accessed over dedicated network.
My question is: Is the EBS bandwidth accounted when calculating network bandwidth? Putting it the other way, if the EBS bandwidth is saturated, how much network bandwidth can be utilised by the a1.4xlarge node. Is it "Up to 6500Mbps" (10000 - 3500 = 6500Mbps) or does it remain "Up to 10000Mbps"
