'Intellij basic complete ctrl + space is not working on mac

I am running IntelliJ on my maOS Big Sur and ctl + space for basic complete does not seem to work. I looked under keymap configs and it seems in order.

Found out that the OS itself has this already taken.

I disabled both shortcuts on System Preferences -> Keyboard -> Shortcuts -> Input Sources and it did the trick.
