'IFFT ‘symmetric’ flag on complex signals
I was wondering what is happening when you use the ‘symmetric’ flag on Matlab ifft() on a strongly frequency asymmetric signal. I see how ifft() results in a real signal only if its input is Hermetian symmetric, so I guess the symmetric’ does a sort of mirroring of the asymmetric spectrum … does someone know what is actually doing?
