I cannot find a key combination that toggles overtype on visual studio

Question

I keep toggling overtype mode while working on projects in Visual Studio for Mac, and I can't find any useful information on the internet about how to toggle it. It's evidently possible, but I've tried to find answers for weeks. One page first suggested pressing the Insert key. The keyboard I'm using has no Insert key, so it said to use the key combination Cmd+Shift+I but that has no visible effect. An answer to another StackOverflow question said to use Shift+Numpad 0, but that just results in me typing out a 0. Another one said to use Ctrl+Shift+I, but that of course had no visible effect.
