How to stop lightbox automatically submitting form

Question

Currently the lightbox is made with .modal, this is how it should work: while submitting the form, the lightbox appears with a button asking for a higher purchase amount, if select yes, then it changes the purchase amount then submits the form. But now the form automatically submits whenever the lightbox appears without clicking the lightbox button.
