How to set up block chain locally

Question

I have created a app to make transactions of money from one account to other, for that we have created a ledger table in mysql which runs in my local host very well. Now our professor wants to just insert or store the ledger data into a block chain network. It is best if we can have that block chain running on localhost kind of thing. As we are new to blick chain can any body help us how to set block chain whith or with out any consennses algo on the local host and insert data on to block chain.
