'Does Longmire Buffer "go bad"?

I have some Longmire Buffer for preserving whole blood samples in the field. These samples are collected for genetic analysis. I don't know how long the Longmire buffer has been around, maybe years. Does Longmire Buffer go bad, i.e. stop working? If so, after how long? Thanks!
