'Does having a less popular TLD affect website performance?
I was watching a video about how DNS is resolved and understood the following.
There are 13 root servers that tell you where the resolvers are for your TLD. These resolvers then point you at the correct IP.
My question: Does signing up for a less-congested TLD, such as .engineering or .gay mean a faster time to resolve IP? Would this have a meaningful performance impact on a website?
