Difference between "New Users Acquired" (google Play console) and "Installs" (Google apps store)

Question

According to Google Play Console, my app has 51.3K New users acquired (lifetime):

However, from play.google.com, I see 10,000+ Installs:

I was expecting to see 50,000+ in the public store as documented here: How is the number of downloads computed in Google Play store?

Any reason for this difference? I have had more than 50000 installs since November 2021 so I'm guessing it is not a problem related to a sync delay.
