'Can AppGyver connect to SQL Server and how would it be done to be secure?

I am trying AppGyver and want to be able to connect to a SQL Server database to get the data. I understand that there are some security issues when connecting directly to the database but how can it be done?

I have read through the AppGyver documentation but I didn't find any help there. Thanks for your help.
