'Behaviour wanted: iFrame in SharePoint - when a link is clicked inside the iFrame, break out into main page frame (second choice would be a new tab)

At the moment, it's loading the new page inside the iFrame and I could do with it loading in the main page frame, or as a second choice, opening in a new tab. This is for both other SharePoint links, or external URLs.

Is there some sort of suffix etc that I could try putting on the end of the link URL to get it to do what I need?
