'Android out of band DTMF

I've been tasked with developing an android app that can detect both in and out of band DTMF tones from an active phone call. I'm sure I can handle in band DTMF but I am unsure how I can get the channel for out of band.

If anyone can point me in the right direction that would be greatly appreciated!
