'Access denied while pushing GitHub repository

Haven't used GitHub in while, found we need to use PAT. I have created a token, enter it as a password, but get below as error message.

remote: Permission to User/project.git denied to User.

Im the owner of the repo and not sure why Im not able to push it.

I tried to recreate the repository, recreated the token but no luck
