'2x hosting for 1x portal vs. efficiency
I have a portal based on PHP, MySQL, JS, AJAX. Some pages will load longer than they should under a bit more load. I have one hosting 1Ghz / 2GB RAM. Does it make sense to buy another, same hosting and export some elements of the portal to a second database mysql? Specifically, I mean the rating system and the comment system (voting, displaying, counting) Will combining two separate web-hosting bring much more performance? or maybe the performance will increase slightly due to use external database? From the programming point of view, this seems to be quite simple to implement and cheaper financially. But will the performance for sure increase?
